First-time setup

This beta is unsigned while Apple signing is in progress. After downloading, run this in Terminal to remove the installer’s quarantine flag:

xattr -d com.apple.quarantine ~/Downloads/midi-audio-macos-arm64.pkg

Use the actual path if you renamed or moved the download. “No such xattr” means the flag is already absent.

  1. Open the .pkg and follow the installer.
  2. If macOS still blocks it, first attempt to open it, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway where offered.
  3. Restart your DAW and load MIDI.audio, or open the standalone app in Applications.

Import MIDI, choose an instrument and render. Drag the rendered waveform into your session. REAPER VST3 can also read the selected MIDI track directly.

Run shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/midi-audio-macos-arm64.pkg and compare the result.

Setup and removal instructions are installed in /Library/Application Support/midi.audio. Managed Macs may restrict unsigned software.
